Things to Know

Hoehn Bend Farm Critters & FarmerHoehn Bend Farm is a working farm—that means there is mud and manure. Please wear old shoes and boots if possible; the farm is not a friendly place for sandals, open-toed shoes, or flip-flops.

We have a well as the source of our water, so there is a higher mineral content than most city water. We will provide 2 gallons of bottled water for your drinking and cooking if you prefer to use it.

There is no garbage disposal. We will provide information about how to handle kitchen waste. Polly, our pig, often enjoys the left-over scraps after we have sorted them out for her.

We try to recycle as much as possible and provide containers for your use.

We prefer that there be no smoking at Hoehn Bend Farm.  There is definitely no smoking in the Farm House, in the barn or shop, or around any of the outbuildings.  The risk of fire is just too great with gasoline and diesel fuels, combustible materials, and a barn full of dry hay. If you must smoke, please do so only in the carport area and dispose of cigarette butts in the container of sand provided there.

Thank you for understanding.
